Featuring 352 cases, A Practical Case-Based Radiology Review is a unique opportunity for radiologists at all levels, from those in-training to those in practice for years, to review common topics in 11 radiology disciplines presented in a case-based format. Each case will be presented with an unknown diagnosis for audience self-assessment. The course format allows for the discussion of common diagnoses as well as important but easily missed uncommon ones. Each discipline will also present two mini-didactic sessions on hot and timely topics within the subspecialty discipline. New this year will be a rapid session of cases in each subspeciality to provide an even more comprehensive review of cases with limited differential diagnoses.

Needs Assessment

Each specialty will include diagnoses that are essential to a modern practice as well as meeting continuing medical education and maintenance of certification requirements. With a focus on approach, the radiologist will be able to see key differential diagnoses in each area. The mini-didactics will allow the practicing radiologist to review a topic that might be new or have evolved since they have completed training. This two-pronged approach goes beyond the traditional instructional course.


Target Audience

The target audience for this activity includes in-training radiologists preparing for exams and active practice, as well as for practicing radiologists with an interest in honing their diagnostic skills.


Learning Outcomes

Upon completion of this course, participants will possess the knowledge and skills to:

  • Develop differential diagnoses for conditions in 11 radiology subspecialties
  • Recognize the imaging and clinical features that enable refinement of differential diagnoses to reach a more specific diagnosis
  • Recognize some commonly encountered imaging artifacts in the subspecialties, describe why they occur, and learn techniques to avoid them
  • Show management decisions affecting a variety of commonly encountered clinical scenarios
  • Recognize imaging features that are highly characteristic of a specific diagnosis or diagnostic set

Each registrant will receive the accompanying book, featuring a chapter for each scheduled presentation. An e-book is also part of your course registration. A link will be sent to participants. Due to the nature and granularity of this course, a separate registration fee is required in addition to your general registration fee.



Credits

ARRS designates this live educational activity for a maximum of 22 AMA PRA Category 1 Credits™. Physicians should claim only the credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity. This activity is also qualified by the American Board of Radiology® in meeting the criteria for self-assessment toward the purpose of fulfilling requirements in the ABR Maintenance of Certification Program.


MOC Section 3 Credit

Annual and Virtual Meeting Review Course
The ARRS Case-Based Imaging Review Course is an Accredited Self- Assessment Program (Section 3) as defined by the NEW Maintenance of Certification program (MOC) of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada (RCPSC), and has been approved by the Canadian Association of Radiologists (CAR) for a maximum of 2 credit hours per module.

The RCPSC recording system (MAINPORT) will automatically convert the credit hours for this program to three credits per claimed hour (2 hours x 3 = 6 credit hours). Physicians should only claim credits commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity.
