Item-Writing Workshop

Who Should Attend: Radiology professionals with an interest in writing multiple- choice items for ABR exams, SAMs and other adult educational activities.

Goals and Objectives: Upon completion of the program, the participants should be able to write and edit multiple-choice items appropriate for adult educational activities, in particular ABR examinations and ABR-qualified self-assessment modules (SAMs). This course requires that attendees read a pre-selected journal article and write an MCQ related to the article following guidelines in a handout that will be distributed via e-mail to all registrants. Registrants should submit the MCQ to ARRS prior to the ARRS meeting. During the course, attendees will participate in small and large group critiques of the MCQs.

Who Should Attend: Radiology professionals and educators seeking to better understand feedback and enhance the quality of feedback in their organizations.

Goals and Objectives: Upon completion of this course, attendees will be able to: define feedback in education and the different forms it can take; outline the features that characterize effective feedback; and develop strategies for improving the frequency and quality of feedback in their educational programs.

Goals and Objectives: Upon completion of the business and practice management seminar, participants will be able to: describe the current and anticipated policy, economic and legislative changes and actions that will have an impact on radiology practice, and identify changes in business practices that can be implemented to assure continued viability.
