Target Audience: Diagnostic and interventional radiologists and other radiology professionals at all stages of their careers with an interest in developing competencies in CT angiography of the heart and coronary arteries.
Objectives: Upon completion of the program, attendees will be able to:
- Describe the physical principles of cardiac CT angiography, including gating mechanisms and 3D reconstruction techniques
- Identify characterize, and quantify abnormalities of the coronary arteries, including atherosclerotic plaque and congenital anomalies
- Diagnose various conditions that comprise adult congenital heart disease
- Apply appropriate strategies to minimize the radiation dose and risk associated with cardiac CT angiography
- Apply effective protocols for the injection of intravenous contrast media for cardiac CT angiography
- Triage emergency room patients with chest pain for potential evaluation with cardiac CT angiography relative to other cardiac imaging tests
