Hotel Information
Who Should Attend: Radiologists and other breast and women's imaging health care professionals interested in advances in detection, diagnosis, management and treatment of breast diseases and benign breast abnormalites.
Goals and Objectives: At the conclusion of this activity, participants will be able to: explain controversies regarding breast cancer screening recommendations for mammography and supplemental techniques of ultrasound and MRI; correlate MRI, mammography and ultrasound findings; assess benign and malignant breast lesions using the ACR BI-RADS® for mammography, ultrasound and MRI; integrate breast MRI into their practices; recognize indications for and selection of appropriate percutaneous image-guided breast interventional procedures, utilize devices for MRI-guided and other image-guided procedures; explain the role of automated breast ultrasound; establish concordance of histopathology with imaging findings; describe the management of high-risk breast lesions and how imaging influences selection of surgical procedures; compare radiation doses of common X-ray examinations including mammography, PET, nuclear medicine, and high-resolution CT scans; recognize applications for new technologies such as tomosynthesis, cone beam CT, BSGI and BMI, PEM and PET; understand workflow issues for multimodality imaging evaluations; describe the role of imaging in the diagnosis and screening of ovarian cancer; recognize ultrasound and MR findings in benign and malignant pelvic abnormalities in women; identify osteoporosis, its causes and treatments, and identify issues related to women's health in a cost-cutting era of evidence-based medicine.
Accreditation Statement
The American Roentgen Ray Society (ARRS) is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME) to provide continuing medical education activities for physicians.
Designation Statement
The ARRS designates this live educational activity for a maximum of 30.5 AMA PRA Category 1 Credits™. The physician should only claim credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity.
The American Medical Association has determined that physicians not licensed in the US who participate in this CME activity are eligible for AMA PRA Category 1 Credit(s)™.
Modality Credits
Many of the courses are coded so you can match your modality credit needs with the courses that provide those credits.
Earn up to:
8.5 Credits in Breast Ultrasound
8 Credits in Breast MR
6 Credits in Mammography
