Nominees are selected and receive a grant to attend a two-day workshop for junior faculty physicians to gain proficiency in teaching skills and designing educational activities. Interactive workshops are presented by leading educators and cover such topics as:

  • Adult learning theory and practice
  • Developing curriculum
  • Interactive techniques and exercises
  • Case-based learning
  • Designing a teaching-learning website
  • Developing a teaching portfolio
  • Writing self-assessment modules (SAMs)

 

The program is limited to 25 attendees. Only ONE nominee per institution will be accepted.
All attendees will receive an educational grant.

Nomination Criteria
Chairpersons and medical directors at medical schools, affiliated hospitals and clinical research institutions are invited to nominate candidates for this program.

  • M.D. or D.O. degree from an accredited institution
  • Completion of radiology residency, fellowship or equivalent
  • Certification by the American Board of Radiology or equivalent
  • Faculty appointment as a lecturer, instructor, assistant professor or equivalent with no more than 5 years of teaching experience post-training
  • Currently employed in an academic center or teaching hospital
  • Interested in and has the potential for a career that includes teaching
  • ARRS member
