NEURORADIOLOGY

History
25-year-old patient who presented with rapidly progressive lower extremity weakness and now has upper extremity involvement.
Findings
Sagittal contrast-enhanced T1-weighted MR image (A) shows diffuse enhancement of the cauda equina nerve roots (arrows) and leptomeningeal enhancement around the conus medullaris. Axial contrast-enhanced T1-weighted MR image at the L1 vertebral body level (B) shows predominant enhancement of the anterior (ventral) spinal nerve roots (arrows) compared with the posterior (dorsal) spinal nerve roots.
