Pre-Symposium Tomosynthesis Workshop
Course Director: Tanya Moseley, MD
This hands-on course will provide information on the history and use of breast tomosynthesis and the unique features of Siemens, GE, and Hologic DBT equipment. Participants will have the opportunity to interact one-on-one with physicians that use the units in their daily practice. The FDA requires that individuals acquire 8 hours of Tomosynthesis training in order to use this modality in breast imaging. By participating in this hands-on workshop, you will meet this requirement and earn 8 additional CME. The workshop is limited to the first 60 registrants and requires a separate registration fee.

Workshop Learning Outcomes
Upon completion of the Pre-Symposium Tomosynthesis Workshop, participants will be able to:
- Discuss the history and use of Digital Breast Tomosynthesis (DBT)
- Describe the unique features of Siemens DBT
- Describe the unique features of GE DBT
- Describe the unique features of Hologic DBT
- Identify the challenges and pitfalls to implementation of DBT in clinical practice
- Use all three DBT systems

1:30–4:30 pm |
Concurrent Hands-on Sessions with Three DBT Systems
Attendees will be divided into three groups. Groups will rotate to the next vendor room after an hour. Participants will review 10 cases at workstations (2 people per workstation) in each DBT system with assistance from a physician leader. After completing the course, the participants will be certified to use all three units. |
