Argentina Society of Radiology

The Argentina Society of Radiology (SAR) was founded May 14, 1917, under the name of "Medical Society of Radio and Electrology."

Through the years, the Sociedad Argentina de Radiología has maintained a growing prolific activity, including the development of scientific courses of different complexity and scope. The Course of Specialist in Diagnostic Imaging has been offered for more than 25 years. The University of Buenos Aires has signed an agreement with the SAR to give the university status to this Course.

The SAR organizes Scientific Meetings, Discussions Panels, and Training Courses. Annually, in the month of September, the already traditional Argentine Congress of Radiology, Diagnostic Imaging and Radiation Therapy took place. It is the major event of the country in the specialty, and the second in South America. This congress has among the lecturers distinguished physicians, both from Argentina and many other countries of the entire world, who offer their expertise during the days of the congress.

The SAR promotes research, permanently instituting Scholarships and Prizes to scientific works, stimulating especially the young professionals.

A Council of the Society designed and maintains a Nationwide Professional Certification and Recertification Program.
